Catherine Bybee has been, and will always be, on my auto-buy list. I have read almost all of her contemporary romance books, I'm on her street-team, and I had the pleasure of meeting her at RWA last summer. Her books are always a sexy fun read and Not Quite Forever has quickly become one of my favorites, check out the blurb:
The touching and heartwarming fourth novel in the wildly popular Not Quite series from New York Times bestselling author Catherine Bybee.
Romance author Dakota Laurens believes that happily-ever-afters exist only between the covers of her sexy novels. But to her surprise, she finds a real-life hero when she meets a handsome emergency room doctor. The outspoken author feels an instant and intense attraction to Dr. Walt Eddy, and the feeling is mutual. When the globetrotting doctor pulls a disappearing act on Dakota, she’s prepared to write him off…until fate brings a blindsiding twist to her story.
Still scarred from a past tragedy, Walt may have disappeared on Dakota, but now he’s determined to win her back. For the first time in years, he knows he’s ready for a new chance at love. Yet between Dakota’s doubts and two sets of meddling parents, can the once-blissful couple finally create the bright, loving future they desperately want?
Not Quite Forever had me hooked from the first sentence. Can it get any better than the characters attending a romance convention?!? I've been to a couple of these conventions and loved Catherine's descriptions! I knew I would love Dakota from the first page. Dakota was a little sarcastic, very confident, and a perfect match for Walt. Walt is so swoon worthy and could easily be called Dr. McHottie. If you've read other books by Catherine, you know she writes the best heroes. The characters in this story are well developed, full of personality, and fun. The story line moves quickly and before I knew it the story was over and I was craving more! Characters from other books in this series have cameo's and it's like visiting your favorite town and catching glimpses of family members that you haven't seen in a while. Steamy-ness is hot, but tasteful, and will leave you wanting more. Check out Not Quite Forever!
