Here's the blurb:
It’s been almost a year since eighteen-year-old Ella Rodriguez was in a car accident that left her crippled, scarred, and without a mother. After a very difficult recovery, she’s been uprooted across the country and forced into the custody of a father that abandoned her when she was a young child. If Ella wants to escape her father’s home and her awful new stepfamily, she must convince her doctors that she’s capable, both physically and emotionally, of living on her own. The problem is, she’s not ready yet. The only way she can think of to start healing is by reconnecting with the one person left in the world who’s ever meant anything to her—her anonymous Internet best friend, Cinder.  …

Author Spotlight: Anne Eliot

I want to spotlight a favorite YA author of mine, Anne Eliot.  Anne has written these amazing YA books that deal with tough issues that many teens experience, but she does it in a sensitive, thought provoking way that makes you feel as though you are in the mind of her characters.  You experience their highs and lows and everything in between.  Here are my reviews of Anne's books and I hope that you find one that you might wish to read!

It's no secret here on the blog that I'm a boy band/rock star fan.  One of my favorite YA rock star romances is Unmaking Hunter Kennedy by Anne Eliot.  I absolutely love this one.  The story is fun, YA appropriate, and every girl's dream.  Cute angst filled rock star? Check.  Uninterested, but becomes interested young girl? Check. Protective but clueless older brother? Double check.  Seriously, this is a favorite of mine and I have read it many times.  The angst is light, the characters are believable, and the story line, while at times…

A Safe Space by E.M Tippetts

Title: A Safe Space Author: E.M. Tippetts
Age Group: NA
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Cover Designer: Okay Creations, Sarah Hansen

Everyone needs a safe space.
For Lizzie Warner, that space has always been in front of the camera on her hit show, or on stage to a sold out concert arena. Since before she can remember, she’s been a star, but that may be about to change.

She’s nineteen. Her show has been cancelled and now she’s going to play the lead in a new prime time drama series, but is the world ready to take her seriously, or will she be typecast as the cute tween queen forever?
Her network has decided to be aggressive and has invested millions of dollars in an ad campaign for her show, money she’s not sure she can earn back. Her co-star can’t stand her, and the writing for the show turns out to be poor at best. The only reason Lizzie didn’t walk away from the job offer to begin with is because she’s broke, the victim of a decade of bad money management.

Then there’s Devon, …

Making Faces by Amy Harmon

Have you ever read something and as you read it you just wanted to take a highlighter and start highlighting words, phrases, paragraphs?  Just me?  If I had highlighted words/phrases that I loved in Making Faces I think I would have used a whole box of highlighters Amy Harmon's Making Faces is one of the most beautiful, well written books I have ever read.  I had heard great things about this book, but honestly kept putting it off because I knew it wasn't a "fluff" book.  I knew it would be emotional and I would probably shed a few tears.  I ordered the book and when it came in the mail, I thought I'd just read a few pages and see what it's about.  At 1:30 in the morning when I had finished, I just sat in awe.  Amy Harmon has a gift.  This book is so carefully and masterfully written.  By page 17 I was already shedding tears....a few more pages, and I found myself rereading some sentences several times so that I could absorb the meanings.  A few more chapter…

Review: Neanderthal Marries Human by Penny Reid

This book is not a standalone. It is the sequel to ‘Neanderthal Seeks Human,’ it is book #1.5 in the ‘Knitting in the City’ series, and it is a full length, 105k word novel.
There are three things you should know about Quinn Sullivan: 1) He is madly in love with Janie Morris, 2) He’s not above playing dirty to get what (or who) he wants, and 3) He doesn’t know how to knit.
After just five months of dating Janie, Quinn—former Wendell and unapologetic autocrat—is ready to propose marriage. In fact, he’s more than ready. If it were up to Quinn, he would efficiently propose, marry, and beget Janie with child all in the same day—thereby avoiding the drama and angst that accompanies the four stages of pre-matrimony: engagement, meeting the parents, bachelor/bachelorette party, and overblown, superfluous wedding day traditions. But Janie, much to Quinn’s dismay, tosses a wrench in his efficacious endeavors and challenges him to prove his devotion by going through the matrimonial motio…

Author Spotlight: Lacey Weatherford

I have read several of Lacey's books and I really enjoyed them.  My favorite has been the Crush Series. A great clean romance series that also includes a little mystery and police action.  Check her out!!

~*~ABOUT THE AUTHOR~*~ Lacey Weatherford was born in Ft. Meade Maryland while her father was serving in the military. She has been a life long resident of Arizona, spending most of her time growing up in the small rural town of Clay Springs.
It was while she was attending the small country school in Clay Springs, that she read her first "big" book at the age of eight. It was a Nancy Drew novel and Lacey was instantly hooked. She read every book that she could find in the series and decided that she wanted to write stories too.
Lacey spent a lot of time at the library from that time forward, even volunteering in her later teen years and early twenties. She would don a crazy clown outfit for the Friends of the Library fundraisers in an effort to help get the new town libr…
